Recycling your Cube

Last updated 17 October 2026

The Cube is electrical equipment, marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol. Please don't put it in your household bin. Electrical items contain materials that can be recovered and reused, and some that harm the environment if they end up in landfill. Recycling it is free.

Free ways to recycle it

  1. Your local recycling centre. Household waste recycling centres accept small electricals. Find your nearest at recycleyourelectricals.org.uk.
  2. Shops that take back small electricals. Many larger electrical retailers accept them free of charge, even if you didn't buy from them.

Free take-back from us

When you buy a Cube from us, we'll take back one old item for each Cube you bought, free of charge, within 28 days of your purchase. The item must do a similar job to a Cube - a small household display such as a weather station or desk clock - and can be any brand. Email support@carpvantage.co.uk with your order number and we'll send you a free postage label. We pass everything we collect to an approved electrical recycler. Our WEEE producer registration number is WEE/MM3400AA.

You can also send your CarpVantage Cube back to us at the end of its life for us to recycle. Email support@carpvantage.co.uk first; postage for this is at your own cost. Your local recycling centre takes it free.

Why it matters

The crossed-out wheelie bin means the item must not go in general waste. Electrical items thrown away with household rubbish end up in landfill or incineration, where hazardous substances can leak into soil and water and valuable materials are lost. Collected separately, most of the materials can be recovered and reused.
